Ribs at the Ranch - Ribfest Saturday, June 25, 2011

Area specialty chefs will participate in the fourth annual barbecue rib cook-off contest at the Pioneer Hall parking lot/Freeman Academy, Freeman, SD on Saturday, June 25. Official judging will take place in the afternoon, with meals served to the public from 4:30-9:00 p.m. Baby back ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, 1919 keg root beer, homemade ice cream, and other side dishes will be sold ala carte.
The third “Running of the Pigs” will be held at the Prairie Arboretum with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. for an 8:30 a.m. race time. Contact Ashley Unruh at 605-759-6499 or amu_63@hotmail.com to register. Entry fee of $20 includes a free t-shirt.

Musical entertainment will feature a variety of excellent groups from the Freeman area.
